Equilibria employs an approach that illuminates what an organization is, how it functions and particularly how change can be initiated and carried through. To gain insight into a client's current situation, our approach employs four complementary perspectives, the combination providing a comprehensive overview of the difficulties that a client may be facing:
55Developmental
The current developmental stage of the client organization, or if the organization is in transition between stages. Each stage has its own characteristic growth pattern and managerial style. Transition between stages represents significant change.
55Structural
An analytical overview of the client organization at a particular time.
55Cultural
The particular culture found in the client organization. Organizational culture is the way one experiences what it is like to live and work in the organization.
55Generative
The underlying dynamics and core realities of the organization, including meaning and purpose; the overall context in which the organization operates and the means where-by individuals, groups and the organization as a whole can continue to evolve.
Each client situation can present challenges in one or more of the areas illuminated by the four perspectives. Our task as consultants is to gain a clear overview of the client's presenting problem and its roots within the organization, as well as indications regarding the types of remedies that need to be pursued.

Once we understand the problem or situation facing the client, we then seek to create an evolutionary transition or shift in the client organization that will resolve current challenges and allow new possibilities to emerge. The action steps we follow to accomplish this result are as follows:
55Entry:
Assessing the clients current situation and seeing the guiding image, myth or story through a focus on organizational issues/ dilemmas and employing the four perspectives outlined above
55Alignment:
Aligning with the defined roles within the organization and using those roles to establish new understandings and relationships
55Resonance:
Determining the leverage points for change through conversations with stakeholders
55Authorship:
Drafting a new story (image, myth) using the understandings and leverage points, based on the premise that the application of a small force in one place can lead to large shifts in another
55Dynamic Change:
Guiding a dynamic change process generated by the new story and leading to new organizational possibiities
55Generativity:
Creating new meanings for the revised organizational context that resolve the organizational challenges and issues
Equilibrias consulting activity, guided by this alchemical / transformative view, creates deeper insight into organizational situations and can create more successful change initiatives.
